## Website ma-db.com
### Hosting and access log
The website runs on a server provided by [HOSTER]. With every page view, we store the following in an access log:
- time,
- IP address,
- requested address,
- browser identification (user agent).
We use this data for secure operation, to prevent abuse and for internal access statistics. It is deleted automatically after 60 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
### Cookies and browser storage
The following are technically necessary:
- a session cookie,
- a cookie that protects against forged form requests,
- your language choice,
- the selected map type, which is stored only in your browser.
The website does not work properly without them. They do not require consent (Section 25(2) TDDDG).
### Statistics with Matomo (only with consent)
If you choose “Allow statistics” in the cookie banner, we analyse page views with Matomo to improve the map. Matomo runs on our own server, and the data is not shared with third parties. Matomo sets cookies (`_pk_…`) for this.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the map. The Matomo cookies are then deleted.
### Map services
Your browser loads satellite imagery and labels from Esri (arcgis.com) and the street map from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (tile.openstreetmap.org). Your IP address and the requested map sections are transmitted to the respective map server. A map cannot be displayed without this (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website does not use Google Maps.
Privacy information: [Esri](https://www.esri.com/en-us/privacy/overview), [OpenStreetMap Foundation](https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy)
### Search
Searching for airfields runs only in your browser. When you search for a place or address, your search term is sent to the Nominatim service of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (nominatim.openstreetmap.org).
### Your location
“My location” uses your browser's location sharing, and only when you request and allow it. Your exact position is not transmitted to us. The map simply moves there and, as with any panning, loads the airfields and map images for the visible area.
### Notes to the editors
You can report corrections using the form in the airfield view. We store the text and the airfield concerned. We do not ask for your name or email address. To protect against spam, your IP address is used for a rate limit for no longer than one day. Instead of a captcha service, your browser solves a small computational task, and no data is sent to third parties for this.
### App account confirmation
If you create an account in the app, we send you an email with a confirmation link to ma-db.com. The email is sent via our own mail server, without an external delivery service. For the account itself, see the app section.
### Links to other services
Links to Google Play, the App Store, Facebook, Instagram and the community are plain links. The privacy policy of the respective provider only applies once you click them.
## Mobile app “Model Airfields MADB” (Android and iOS)
### Location
The app uses your location to show airfields near you and to place you on the map. If you enable automatic check-in, the app also uses your location in the background to detect when you arrive at a model airfield (geofencing). This is evaluated on your device only. Your coordinates are not transmitted to us. You can revoke location access at any time in your system settings.
### Check-ins and flight log
When you check in, automatically or manually, the app sends the following data to ma-db.com:
- the airfield and the time of your visit,
- a randomly generated device ID,
- your call sign, if you have set one,
- the link to your account, if you are signed in.
This data is used for the airfield's visitor list and your flight log. We store it until you ask us to delete it or to delete your account (info@ma-db.com).
### User account (optional)
To register, we collect your name, email address and password. The password is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form. Your sign-in token is kept in your device's secure storage. You can use the app without an account. To delete your account, write to info@ma-db.com.
### Notes to the editors
When you send a note about an airfield, we transmit the text, the airfield and the device ID to ma-db.com.
### Technical data
With every request to ma-db.com, the app sends its version number and the random device ID. Your IP address is also processed for technical reasons. We use this data to operate the service and to protect it against abuse, and delete it after 60 days. There is no advertising and no tracking.
### Google Maps
The map in the app is displayed using the Google Maps SDK provided by Google Ireland Ltd. Technical data such as your IP address and the map area shown are transmitted to Google. [Google's privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) applies.
### Notifications
Notifications, for example about a check-in, are created locally on your device. No data is sent through a push service for this.
## Your rights
You have the right to
- access the data we store about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR) and withdraw any consent at any time. To do so, contact info@ma-db.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.
